Q: Can she wear this over regular clothes, or is it see-through?
The bodice is fully lined under the mesh yoke, so it's not see-through. The skirt is opaque thanks to the layered tulle. She can wear it over a black long-sleeve top and leggings if the classroom is cold.
Q: How do I clean the sequins and tulle without damage?
Spot-clean only with a damp cloth and mild soap. The sequins are sewn or heat-applied and shouldn't go in the wash. Hang to dry, and store the cape and headband flat to keep the hat's crooked shape intact.
Q: Is this suitable for a Book Week parade outdoors?
Yes — the cape adds warmth, and the tea-length skirt won't drag on asphalt. The headband stays secure during walking, though you might want to bobby-pin the hat if it's windy.
