Can I wear this for an active dance performance or just photo ops?
The ruffles are stitched securely and the elastic waist gives you movement range, so you can absolutely dance in it. If you're doing choreographed routines, test the arm mobility beforehand — the ruffles add bulk at the wrists.
How do I wash this without damaging the ruffles?
Hand wash in cold water or use a delicate machine cycle inside a mesh laundry bag. Hang to dry — the ruffles will naturally fall back into shape. Don't tumble dry; the satin-like fabric will wrinkle.
Is this suitable for outdoor carnival events in Australian summer heat?
The fabric is lightweight polyester so it's not overly hot, but the black base and long sleeves mean you'll feel the sun. Best for evening events or air-conditioned venues if it's a scorcher.
